Limiting factors can be identified by their ability to constrain the size of the population and cease it from growing. Some instances of limiting factors are mates, food, competing amongst one another for resources, etc.
Water, shelter and space alter plant and animal populations. Some other factors can be predation and diseases which also have the potential to impact populations.
