Cells:

Prokaryotic cells:

  1. Prokaryotic cells are single-celled organisms with no nucleus that are made up of a capsule, cytoplasm, cell wall, cell membrane, ribosome, nucleoid, plasmids, pili, and flagella.
  2. Prokaryotes have a capsule that encircles their entire body and serves as a protective coat.
  3. This is critical for preventing the phagocytosis process.
  4. The pilus is a hair-like appendage found on the outside of most prokaryotes that helps the organism attach to different environments.
  5. The cell wall, which provides strength and rigidity to the cell, is located directly beneath the protective coating.
  6. Further down, the cytoplasm, which aids in cellular growth, is contained within the plasma membrane, which separates the cell's interior contents from the outside environment.
  7. Ribosomes exist in the cytoplasm and play an important role in protein synthesis. It is also one of the cell's smallest components.

Eukaryotic cells:

  1. They are true cells with a nucleus.
  2. The term eukaryotes refers to organisms with this type of cell.
  3. This group includes animals, plants, and other organisms.
  4. The cell wall of eukaryotes supports and protects the plasma membrane.
  5. The plasma membrane surrounds the cell and regulates the entry and exit of various substances.
  6. DNA, which is responsible for storing all genetic information, is found in the nucleus.
  7. The nuclear membrane encircles the nucleus.
  8. The nucleolus is found within the nucleus and plays an important role in protein synthesis.
  9. Eukaryotic cells also have mitochondria, which are in charge of producing energy, which is then used by the cell.
