Solution

Cell cycle:

It is referred to as the series of events occurring inside the cell as it grows and divides.

Factors affecting cell cycle: Here are various factors, both internal and even external which work together to regulate cell division, they are as follows:

  1. External factors are also factors that affect cell division from the outside cell, which are –
    1. Chemical and physical signals include several chemicals released which could be the excitatory or inhibitory mechanisms.
    2. Cell to cell contact – when the cell gets in touch with another, it generally stops growing
    3. Different growth factors – cells give out chemical signals which indicate other signals to grow
    4. It stimulates the internal factor affecting the cell cycle
  2. Internal factors are also factors that affect cell divisions arising from within cell –
    1. Cyclins – proteins in the cells
    2. Kinases – enzymes in the cells
    3. Can also be stimulated by external aspects
    4. Assists in progressing cells to a different phases of the cell cycle
