Solution

Tissues:

  1. Tissues are said to be the specialized group of cells that perform a certain function.
  2. The different types of tissues are:
    1. Connective tissue: Connective tissues perform the function of connecting different organs. For example, blood, etc.
    2. Epithelial tissue: They form the outermost layer of the body, body cavity, and several internal organs. It is responsible for separating different organ systems in the body. Epithelial cells are tightly- packed, continuous sheets and do not have any intercellular space between them, for example, Skin, buccal cavity, etc.
    3. Nervous tissue: They have the ability to generate an electrical impulse in response to any external stimuli and rapidly transmit the electrical impulse from the site of the origin along a particular direction, for example, the brain and spinal cord.
    4. Muscular tissue: Muscular tissue is compactly arranged cells with no intercellular spaces and helps in the locomotion and movement of body parts. For example, smooth tissue and skeletal muscle cells are all made up of muscular tissue.
