Solution

ELISA:

  1. It stands for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.
  2. It is used in analytical biochemistry.
  3. It was first described by Eva Engvall and Peter Perlmann in 1971.
  4. It works on the principle of interaction between antigen and antibody.

Steps:

  1. Immobilizing the target protein to be recognized on a plate is known as plate coating.
  2. Washing to remove excess material and pouring a blocking agent to cover the free spaces on the plate to prevent non-specific binding.
  3. Washing and adding the enzyme-linked antibody and adding a substrate for reacting with the enzyme
  4. Analysis of the plate.
