What are the three main levels of gene regulation?

Open in App
Solution

Gene regulation:

  1. The process by which genes in the DNA cell are controlled is called gene regulation.

The three main levels at which gene regulation are listed below:

  1. Level of Transcription: Regulated by controlling the production of mRNA from a gene.
  2. Regulating the RNA splice: Here removal of introns and joining exons takes place which will lead to the production of proteins. So controlling splicing can help in regulation.
  3. Level of Translation: Here synthesis of protein from mRNA can be controlled.
