Solution

Placenta:

  1. The cord that links the developing fetus with the placenta, when the fetus is in the mother's uterus is known as placenta.
  2. The placenta has the shape of a disc or a pancake.
  3. It is observed linked to the uterine walls on one side and the baby's umbilical cord on the other.
  4. The placenta is a dark maroon color that is separated into lobules.
  5. To be more specific, the placenta has two sides: one that is dark red in color and the other that is shiny and almost translucent.
  6. The chorionic plate of the human placenta is commonly regarded as spherical, with the umbilical cord inserted somewhat in the center.
  7. However, in actual reality, the form of the chorionic disc is not always genuinely round and can range from oval to round, uneven, bi- or multi-lobate.
