Open in App
Solution

Diakinesis:

  1. Diakinesis is the last stage of prophase I of meiosis I.
  2. At this stage of Prophase-I, the nucleolus, the nuclear membrane of the cell starts to disappear, and the appearance of fully compact homologous chromosomes is seen.
  3. It is characterized by the terminalisation of chiasmata and represents the transition to the next phase of the cell cycle, i.e metaphase.
