Hormone that stimulates cell division:

  1. Growth hormone stimulates cell division, protein synthesis, and growth in all cells.
  2. Cell division is the process by which the mature cell can divide into daughter cells of two where there is a resemblance of parental characters.
  3. Growth hormone (GH) is secreted by the anterior pituitary and stimulates growth in humans.
  4. Excess production of GH leads to gigantism and decreased production leads to dwarfism.
