  2. Appressoria can be a unicellular or multicellular structure that adheres tightly to the leaf of the host plant.
  3. Appressoria attaches strongly to the host plant surface to withstand the physical force applied by the fungi and resist the action of enzymes secreted by the fungus.
  4. Appressoria of some fungi contains proteins and lipids that help them to penetrate the cells of plants.
