What Is Embryo Transfer

Embryo transfer is the last step in the IVF (in vitro fertilization) process. In this process of assisted reproduction, embryos are transferred into the female’s uterus to set up pregnancy. Mature eggs in IVF are collected from ovaries, fertilized by male gametes (sperm) in a lab. The embryo (fertilized egg) is transferred to a uterus. This cycle of IVF spans for close to 3 weeks, in some other cases it might take longer.
