Question

What Is Ligation-mediated PCR And Inter Sequence-specific PCR?

Open in App
Solution

Ligation-mediated PCR:

  1. The LM-PCR approach determines primary DNA nucleotide sequences, cytosine methylation patterns, DNA lesion development and repair, and in vivo protein–DNA footprints.
  2. The ligation-mediated PCR takes the use of tiny DNA linkers that are attached to the target DNA and the annealing of numerous primers to the DNA linkers.
  3. DNA sequencing, DNA footprinting, and genome walking have all been done with this method.

Inter Sequence-specific PCR:

  1. ISSR (Inter Sequence-specific PCR) is a DNA fingerprinting approach that amplifies the sites between simple sequence repeats to establish a unique fingerprint of the amplified fragment extents.
  2. Genetic variation is studied using the technique ISSR.
