Hypothalamus:

  1. Hypothalamus is a small region, present at the centre of the human brain, near the pituitary gland.
  2. The basal part of the forebrain controls the body temperature, and the urge to eat food and drink water.
  3. Hypothalamus regulates the synthesis of and secretion of pituitary hormones.
  4. The hormone released from Hypothalamus is two types: releasing hormones and inhibiting hormones.
