What is the path of systemic circulation?

Open in App
Solution

Systemic circulation:

  1. It is the system of vessels that transports oxygenated blood to and returns deoxygenated blood from the body's tissues.
  2. It ensures that all body tissues receive adequate blood supply.
  3. Transportation of oxygen and nutrients to the cells while also collecting carbon dioxide and trash is done in systematic circulation.
  4. The heart pumps oxygenated blood from the left ventricle to the aorta where it is then distributed to various tissues throughout the body via the arteries and capillaries.
  5. Venules, veins, and the vena cava return deoxygenated blood from tissues to the right atrium.
