What Is the Structure and Function of Cell Membrane?

The cell membrane is made up of a phospholipid bilayer with integrated proteins. The main function of a cell membrane is to protect the cell from its surroundings. It is selectively permeable to ions and other organic molecules and hence regulates the movement of substances across the cell membrane.
