Plants have specific structures unique to them known as chloroplasts. It contains chlorophyll – the most important pigment that drives the photosynthesis process. The chloroplasts are surrounded by a double membrane containing an inner membrane known as the thylakoid membrane. In the organelle, it forms long folds.
