Question

Why does the body need to regulate body fluids?

Open in App
Solution

Body fluids:

  1. The body requires a specific volume of liquid inside it to regularly work.
  2. The greater part of the liquids which are taken into the body by drinking or eating is discharged by the kidneys to ensure the body has very little liquid (liquid over-load) or excessively minimal liquid (lack of hydration).
  3. Fluids are crucial for a healthy heart, and maintaining the proper water balance is crucial for maintaining a good blood pressure level.
  4. Dehydration lowers cardiac output, which can cause the heart rate to rise and blood pressure to drop.
  5. The brain, kidneys, and adrenal glands are primarily responsible for maintaining body fluids and electrolytes.
  6. In order to keep homeostasis, it is necessary.
  7. Proteins, enzymes, and metabolic processes all depend on the pH of body fluids to function properly.
