Solution

Lymphatic capillaries:

  1. Lymphatic capillaries are minute vessels that assemble and filter fluid from the cells and tissues of our body.
  2. They also help in maintaining the blood pressure and volume and also prevent the buildup of fluid in the body.
  3. They develop in the tissues as small blind-ended sacs.
  4. They are found close to the blood capillaries.
  5. Almost similar to the blood capillaries, these also have a single layer of endothelial cells.
  6. They have more permeability to large solutes and solvents.

Lymphatic vessels:

  1. Lymphatic vessels are a network of capillaries (micro vessels) and a large network of tubes present throughout the body.
  2. They transport lymph away from tissues.
  3. Lymphatic vessels collect and filter lymph (at the nodes) as it continues to move towards larger vessels known as collecting ducts.
  4. These minute lymphatic capillaries combine with others forming large lymphatic vessels and they structurally resemble veins.
  5. They have lymph nodes at regular gaps throughout their course and as it converges, it grows larger and larger.
