How Many Bones are in the Upper Limb?

The 32 bones that comprise each upper limb are divided into different regions. First, the pectoral girdle is composed mainly of the clavicle (collarbone) and scapula or shoulder blade. The next is arm that consists of one bone, i.e. the humerus bone. Then there is the forearm consisting of the radius and ulna bones. The wrist has eight carpal bones. Then the hand has five metacarpal bones, and the fingers have 14 phalanges.

The bony pectoral girdle, which connects the clavicle and sternum at the sternoclavicular joint, connects the upper limb to the axial skeleton, made up of the skull, vertebral column, and attached thoracic cage.
