NEET UG 2023 – Overview
Starting from April 6th, 2023, aspirants will be able to submit their application for NEET UG 2023. The application form can be accessed from the official NTA website: neet.nta.nic.in or nta.ac.in.

Aspirants are also required to pay application fee for NEET UG 2023. Following table indicates the fees payable by the candidate. Additionally, candidates should also bear GST and other processing charges as applicable.

NEET UG 2023 – Important Instructions
- Candidates are instructed to apply through online mode only through the official website: neet.nta.nic.in/
- Application forms submitted through any other modes will not be entertained.
- Each candidate is allowed to submit only one application. If multiple applications are found from the same candidate, their candidature is liable to be cancelled.
- Candidates must strictly follow instructions detailed on the NTA website and Information Bulletin. Failure to comply with the aforementioned instructions can result in disqualification.
- Candidates must ensure that the e-mail address and mobile number provided in the application form are their own as all official communication by the NTA is sent through the registered addresses or registered mobile number only. Alternatively, e-mail address and mobile number of the parents or guardians are accepted.
- Most important, candidates are required to upload their proof of address – permanent and present address. Valid address proof includes:
- Aadhar card
- Passport
- Voter ID
- Domicile certificate
- The aforementioned documents are to be uploaded in a single .PDF file. If permanent and present addresses are the same, then the same document will be considered valid.
NEET UG 2023 – Exam Pattern and More
- Exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions from 3 subjects – Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- Each question will have 4 options and there shall only be 1 correct answer for each question.
- Each subject will have 50 questions that will be further divided into two sections, namely Section A and Section B.
- The total duration of the exam is 3 hours and 20 minutes (200 minutes) and shall remain uniform for all candidates.
- The exam is scheduled to begin from 2:00 PM and conclude by 5:20 PM (Indian standard time.)
- NEET UG will be conducted across 13 different languages: English, Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Kannada, Gujarathi, Marathi, Odia, Malayalam, Tamil, Punjabi, Telugu and Urdu.
List of Undergraduate Courses Applicable for NEET
Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act 2019 dictates that NEET is to be conducted as a national eligibility cum-entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions. In addition to this, Section 14 of National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act 2020, dictates that NEET (UG) shall be required for admission to undergraduate courses such as:
- BAMS (Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery)
- BUMS (Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery)
- BSMS (Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery)
- BHMS (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
