NEET Topper Habits

There are certain practices and habits that you can follow from the people who have already accomplished great things in life. In this article, we shall discuss a few habits of toppers that you can implement in your own study preparations.

  • Start early

Lakhs of students appear for NEET every year but only a few manage to grab a place in their dream Medical college. If you want to be one among them, then start your preparations at the earliest. Right after your 10th board exams would be a good time to start NEET preparations. But, if that’s not possible, at least start your preparations from 11th std, which would give you more time to cover the entire syllabus at your own pace and revise.

  • Plan wisely

Planning is the first and foremost step required to prepare for any examination. Before starting your exam preparation, chalk out a study plan consisting of all the subjects and study according to it. Allot more time for the subjects that don’t feel confident enough and practise them every day to get better at it.

  • Be consistent

Being consistent is very important when it comes to NEET. As numerical problems in Physics and Chemistry add a lot of weightage in the exam, it is essential to practise numerical problems and be consistent with it every day, without any fail. This will improve your speed and help you feel confident on the examination day.

  • Do not panic

It is important to stay relaxed throughout your exam preparation and especially on the exam day. Your year-long preparation will be tested for a span of 3 hours and you shouldn’t let that go to waste due to stress and pressure. Take a breather at times you feel stressed and try to attempt all the questions on the paper.

  • Attempt mock tests

The first important step in your JEE preparation involves getting familiarised with the JEE exam pattern. By taking mock tests and solving previous year question papers, you will get familiar with the pattern of the entrance exam and the question paper including marks weightage given to each chapter and the number of repetitive questions. This will help you to predict the type of questions that you may encounter in the exam.

  • Revision

Revision is the key to ace this exam. Revise every day until you get perfect at it. Mark all your weak areas and the complicated topics and spend more time getting better at them. Revision helps you to remember the topics that you have learnt. Make sure to do enough revisions before the exam, so that you don’t forget anything on the exam day.

  • Stay healthy

It is essential to relax and take a breather every once in a while. Allot short breaks in-between your study schedule for 10 or 15 minutes. In those intervals, involve yourself with healthy activities like meditating, walking, exercising, listening to music, etc. Remember that pressuring yourself will only make it worse for you to remember the concepts that you have learned. So, engage yourself in these activities which will propel your study rate and help you to stay focused and disciplined.
