Candidates whose admissions were cancelled because of their score below 45% (for general) or 40% (for SC/ST) can visit the nearest helpline centres for recalculation of their total percentage score.
In its latest notification, APSCHE has notified that in the 2022-23 admissions into undergraduate courses of Engineering and Pharma-D via AP EAMCET 2022, the marks scored in all the subjects will be considered for percentage calculation. Previously the percentage was calculated by considering marks scored in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics only.
The relaxation is being done as per the direction given by the Higher Education (EC) Department of Andhra Pradesh on 1 September 2022.
Candidates must note that the decision is being implemented as a one time measure for the academic year 2022-23 admissions.
Previously the eligibility criteria in the official notification of AP EAMCET 2022 stated that “Candidates should have passed qualifying exam (10+2) conducted by Board of Intermediate Education, A.P. or its equivalent and obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories) in prescribed group subjects.” Here the prescribed group subjects referred to Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
For the current year, 2022-23, the modified eligibility criteria states that “Candidates should have passed qualifying exam (10+2) conducted by Board of Intermediate Education, A.P. or its equivalent and obtained at least 45% marks (40 % in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories) in prescribed group subjects/aggregate marks both in 1st & 2nd-year examinations of intermediate (or) 2nd-year intermediate examination alone and shall have secured a rank in EAPCET-2022.”
As per the new criteria, the percentage marks will be calculated on the basis of marks scored in all the subjects in the intermediate (1st year and 2nd year) exams.
Hence, the candidates whose candidature has earlier been cancelled due to their percentile score coming below 45% in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry, can approach the nearest helpline centres for verification and re-calculation of their intermediate marks.
