Fellowship Research Grants: UGC starts registration; Register here

The registration deadline is 10 October 2022. The selected candidates have to report to their assigned institute within three months from the day the award letter is issued.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has started the applications for newly launched Fellowship Research Grants. Candidates can register for each grant separately on the official website of UGC, ugc.ac.in. The last date for registration is 10 October 2022.
Previously on the occasion of teacher’s day 2022, UGC launched different Fellowship and research grant schemes for experienced P.h.D doctorates. The different fellowships that are launched by UGC are Dr. S. Radhakrishnan UGC Post-Doctoral Fellowship, Dr. D.S. Kothari Research Grant for Newly Recruited Faculty Members, Research Grant for ln-service Faculty Members, Fellowship for Superannuated Faculty Members (Emeritus Fellowship), and Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Fellowship for Single Girl Child (SJSGC).
Steps to register for Fellowship Research Grants
- Go to the official website of the UGC, ugc.ac.in.
- Under the notices section, click on the “UGC Public Notice reg: Fellowship and Research Grant Schemes, 2022” link.
- Click on the “Link to Fellowship and Research Grant Portal” link.
- A list of different fellowships will be displayed, click on the new user link of the fellowship scheme of your choice.
- Enter the required details and enter your scanned photograph and signature.
- Your login credentials will be generated, use them to log in.
- Enter your personal details, educational information, work experience, and upload the required documents.
- Now submit your application.
Selection process and joining the Fellowship Research Grants
Following are the common selection criteria for all the fellowships:
- Once the candidate has submitted his/her application, it will be evaluated by the three referees appointed by UGC.
- The referees would be from the research area, for which the candidate has chosen while filling up the application.
- Evaluation will be done on the basis of the accomplishments of the candidate in the P.h.D level, the candidate’s performance as a mentor, and the type of research work, the candidate wishes to pursue.
- The merit list will be prepared based on the marks given by the referees.
- The candidate will be provided the award letter after which, candidates have to report to their assigned institute within three months.
- The fellowship of the candidate will commence from the date of joining the institute.
