Internet services to be banned during SEBA government exams for grade 3 and grade 4 posts

The internet services were suspended during the Assam Government exams which were held on 28 August 2022. The exam is being conducted by SEBA for recruitment of grade 3 and grade 4 posts of the Assam Government. Assam government exams During the Assam grade-3 and 4 government exams which was held on 28 August 2022, the internet services were stopped. This move is being taken by the Assam Government to prevent malpractices that could have occurred during the exams. Over 14.3 lakh candidates have applied for the exam for 30,000 numbers of grade-3 and grade-4 posts of the Assam Government. The internet services were not made available across different areas of 25 districts of Assam where exam centres are located. As per the media reports, the senior officials of telecom operators (Airtel and Reliance Jio) have previously said that the internet services will be suspended for four hours in the 25 districts of Assam. The time frame of the suspension was 10:00 am to 12:00 noon and 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, which were the exam timings of shift 1 and shift 2. Along with Airtel and Reliance Jio, other mobile operators had also announced the same. Along with all this, the Assam police had imposed section 144  on all the exam venues across the state. Which was imposed for the smooth conduct of the exams. In an official order previously released, the Government of Assam ordered that within a 100-metre radius of the exam centre, except for the candidates appearing for the exam, no other people will be allowed. Candidates were not allowed to take their mobile phones inside the exam hall. Section 144 and prohibition of people around the 100-metre radius were also imposed on the area of the SEBA office at Guwahati. The order was valid till the office receives the answer scripts from different exam centres. The same orders will be valid on the 11 September 2022 exam.
