KCET 2022: Candidates who appeared for Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET ) 2022 won’t have to wait for long, as the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has announced that it will release the KCET 2022 result on October 1, 2022. The result will be accessible at kea.kar.nic.in.

The announcement has been made after the Karnataka High Court ordered KEA to act in accordance with suggestions of the technical committee on preparing the rankings of the KCET. The KEA will be applying this formula on the candidates who passed Karnataka's second PUC (academic year-2020–21).

DR B Thimme Gowda, Vice Chairman of the Karnataka State Higher Education Council, suggested that the qualifying marks of students who were in PU batch 2021 should be deducted by an average of 6 marks and 5 marks in Physics and Chemistry, respectively. Aside from that, subtract 7 points from Mathematics, for a total deduction of 6 points for 100 qualifying marks.

A single-judge bench of the Karnataka HC dismissed a notification which was issued by KEA, stating that marks of the second-year pre-university exam of 2020-21 batch won’t be considered for rankings in the entrance to professional courses.

The High Court ordered KEA to prepare the rank list again after considering 50% PUC marks and 50% CET marks of the candidates. A total of 2,10,829 students appeared for the KCET 2022 exam, which was conducted on June 16 and 17, 2022. The result was declared on July 30, 2022.
