The candidates looking to get recruited in Group C and D posts, now need to clear the Punjabi eligibility test by securing at least 50% marks, according to new guidelines by the Punjab government.
Chief minister Bhagwant Mann chaired the meeting which led to this conclusion. He said the decision was taken in order to promote Punjabi language.
He mentioned it would now be mandatory for all candidates who want to get recruited in Group C and D posts to qualify Punjabi eligibility test with minimum 50% marks before competing for the requisite recruitment exam for the respective posts.
It was informed in this very meeting that the state government has started a massive recruitment drive with 26,454 jobs, with a large number of posts being from Group C and D.
This decision is made to promote Punjab’s regional language.
