Teachers’ Day 2022; Fellowship and research grant schemes launched by UGC

Candidates will be provided monetary support for undertaking research projects and will also be compensated on a monthly basis. Teachers’ Day 2022 On the occasion of Teacher’s day 2022, UGC has launched fellowship and research grant schemes for various experienced faculty members. The launch is part of an ongoing 5-day online National Level Panel Discussions event organised by the UGC. At this event, distinguished personalities from different academic backgrounds were present as panel members. As per the event schedule, the programmes were launched on 5 September 2022 at 3:00 pm. The schemes will benefit higher education institutions across the country.

List of UGC fellowship and UGC research grant schemes launched by the University Grants Commission

The UGC has launched the following fellowships and research grant schemes:
  1. Fellowship for Superannuated Faculty Members: It consists of 100 seats and an amount of Rs 50,000 will be given as a fellowship. A contingency of Rs 50,000 per annum will be paid to the candidates. The tenure of this fellowship will be of 3 years or till the candidate has attained the age of 70 years.
  2. Research grant for In-Service Faculty Members: Over 200 candidates can avail of this fellowship and will be compensated Rs 10 Lakhs for their research work. The tenure of this fellowship is 2 years.
  3. Dr. D.S. Kothari Research Grant for Newly Recruited Faculty Members: Rs10 lakh funding will be provided for research work and the tenure of this fellowship is 2 years. This programme consists of 132 seats.
  4. Dr. Radhakrishnan UGC Post-Doctoral Fellowship: This fellowship will provide candidates to undertake research in the field of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Social Science. Over 900 seats are available for this fellowship out of which 30% are reserved for women candidates.
Candidates will be provided a compensation of Rs 50,000 per month and a contingency of Rs 50,000 per annum.
  1. Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Fellowship for Single Girl Child: The main aim of this fellowship is to promote the education of a single girl child. The tenure of this fellowship will be 5 years.
