NEET-UG 2022 The Delhi High court today has dismissed the petition by the students to postpone the NEET-UG exam, which will be held on 17 July 2022. The petitioners demanded the postponement of the exam citing an inability to reach certain exam centre locations which are very far away from their residential place and also with rising concerns of flood situations in certain areas. The plea demanded the following:
  1. Postponement of NEET UG 2022 exam which is scheduled to be held on 17 July 2022, on grounds of bad weather situation hindering access to certain exam centres.
  2. Establishment of complaint redressal mechanism to timely find solutions to the issues raised with respect to exam schedule.
Justice Narula from the Delhi HC has quoted “I was quite inclined to pass order against the petitioner but only because these are students we are not going. If such petitions are filed then the court will not shy away from imposing costs.” The judges believe that petition filed was too late and the perception to postpone the exam is misconceived. NEET-UG is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) every year for admission into 1st year medical undergraduate programs such as MBBS, BAMS, BDS, BUMS, BHMS, BSMS, and other undergraduate courses in the medical field from different universities/institutes/ deemed universities.
