TNEA 2022 counselling process postponed due to delay in NEET 2022 result declaration

The counselling process will commence after 2 days of declaration of National Eligibility Entrance Examination Result 2022. The TNEA 2022 Counselling for the General Category was supposed to commence today, on August 25, 2022, but now the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu, has decided to postpone the counselling.   Yesterday, on August 24, 2022, the State Higher Education Minister K. Pondmudi announced that the counselling conducting authority would be conducting the counselling process 2 days after the NEET 2022 results are declared. NEET 2022 results were expected to be declared on August 21, 2022.   The decision has been taken after considering the trend that has been followed in the past years. Candidates who belong to the general category leave the seats vacant at the universities which are affiliated to TNEA after the NTA declares the result for NEET 2022. Candidates leave the seats vacant in order to take admission in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) courses offered by colleges.   According to the information released, 1.58 lakh candidates are eligible to appear for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions Counselling. The admission process has been delayed so that the maximum number of students are able to take admission.
