IGKO Class 4 Syllabus 2022 - International General Knowledge Olympiad

The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) hosts the IGKO (International General Knowledge Olympiad). The IGKO Olympiad examination is held for students in grades 1 to 10. Its goal is to encourage pupils to become more interested in current events and general knowledge. Students participating in the IGKO Olympiad must be familiar with the IGKO Olympiad Syllabus.

Since the IGKO exam is mostly used to evaluate candidates’ general awareness, you must expect some questions about current events. Aside from that, the IGKO Syllabus will include fundamental questions from Geography, History, Mathematics and Science, among other subjects. General Awareness, Current Affairs, Life Skills, and Achievers Section are all included in the IGKO Class 4 Syllabus. Students in Classes 1 to 4 and grades 5 to 10 have different IGKO Syllabuses for each section.

Class 1 to 10 IGKO Syllabus

The IGKO Syllabus is divided into four sections for each Class, from first to tenth.

The IGKO Syllabus Class 4 is listed below.

General Awareness	Plants and Animals, Our Body and Health, Science and Technology, India and the World, Environment and its Conservation, Entertainment, Sports, Language and Literature, Maths Fun.
Life Skills	Moral values, Flexibility, Teamwork, Time Management, Leadership, Emotional Intelligence and Decision Making.
Current Affairs	Research & Development, News, Updates of new happenings from around the world.
Achievers Section	Higher-Order Thinking Questions from the above-given Syllabus.

The Marking Scheme of IGKO Class 4

Class 1 to 4 has a different marking scheme from Classes 5 to 10. The marking structure of IGKO Class 4 is tabulated below.

Frequently Asked Questions on IGKO Class 4 Syllabus

Who is eligible to compete in the IGKO examination?

The International General Knowledge Olympiad is open to all students in grades 1 to 10. Because the exam is only one level, pupils do not need to prepare for any further exams after taking this one. As previously stated, all students still in school, with the exception of those in 11th and 12th grades, can easily compete in the International General Knowledge Olympiad.

Who is in charge of organizing the International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO)?

The International General Knowledge Olympiad is organized by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). The SOF is an educational organization that promotes academic competition among schoolchildren. For more than two decades, it has used a variety of fun-filled innovative activities to encourage knowledge outside of the classroom and toward scientific studies.

Is the Syllabus the same for all the classes?

No, not all classes have the same Syllabus. The curriculum level varies from class to class. Otherwise, the outcome would be unacceptable.

Is the IGKO exam only conducted in English?

The IGKO exam is conducted entirely in English by SOF. There is no other language to select during the registration and enrolling process.
