IGKO Class 4 Syllabus

The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) hosts the IGKO (International General Knowledge Olympiad). The IGKO Olympiad examination is held for students in grades 1 to 10. Its goal is to encourage pupils to become more interested in current events and general knowledge. Students participating in the IGKO Olympiad must be familiar with the IGKO Olympiad Syllabus.

Since the IGKO exam is mostly used to evaluate candidates’ general awareness, you must expect some questions about current events. Aside from that, the IGKO Syllabus will include fundamental questions from Geography, History, Mathematics and Science, among other subjects. General Awareness, Current Affairs, Life Skills, and Achievers Section are all included in the IGKO Class 4 Syllabus. Students in Classes 1 to 4 and grades 5 to 10 have different IGKO Syllabuses for each section.

Class 1 to 10 IGKO Syllabus

The IGKO Syllabus is divided into four sections for each Class, from first to tenth.

1st section General Awareness Topics based on important events around the world
2nd section Current Affairs Contains questions from recent events
3rd section Life Skills Topics based on abilities for managing and living a better quality of life
4th section Achievers Section Contains questions related to higher-order thinking skills

The Marking Scheme of IGKO Class 4

Class 1 to 4 has a different marking scheme from Classes 5 to 10. The marking structure of IGKO Class 4 is tabulated below.

Who is eligible to compete in the IGKO examination?

The International General Knowledge Olympiad is open to all students in grades 1 to 10. Because the exam is only one level, pupils do not need to prepare for any further exams after taking this one. As previously stated, all students still in school, with the exception of those in 11th and 12th grades, can easily compete in the International General Knowledge Olympiad.

No, not all classes have the same Syllabus. The curriculum level varies from class to class. Otherwise, the outcome would be unacceptable.
