IGKO Exam Pattern

The Science Olympiad Foundation conducts the International General Knowledge Olympiad, which invites children in grades 1 to 10 to compete in an international competitive exam. The disciplines or topics covered in the International General Knowledge Olympiad align with the CBSE, ICSE, and other boards, and it’s an excellent method to get kids interested in different topics such as life skills, general awareness, and current events.

The SOF IGKO 2022 test is a one-level exam. Exam dates must be set, and registrations should be sent out 30 days before the exam date. A registration fee of Rs. 125, including GST per student, is mandatory in India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Nepal. The IGKO Olympiad Syllabus will cover essential topics in geography, history, mathematics, and science, among other subjects. The General Awareness, Current Affairs, Life Skills, and Achievers sections are the four main sections of the exam paper. The IGKO exam pattern is described here.

Syllabus of IGKO

For each Class from 1st to 10th, the IGKO Syllabus is organised into four sections.

Section 1 General Awareness – Topics based on important events around the world.
Section 2 Current Affairs – Contains questions from recent events.
Section 3 Life Skills – Topics based on abilities for managing and living a better quality of life.
Section 4 Achievers Section – Contains Higher-order thinking skills questions.

Exam Pattern of IGKO 2022-2023

To prepare for the SOF IGKO 2022-23, students must study general knowledge and current events. On the IGKO Exam, there will be no negative marking. The question will be based on the relevant class Syllabus. The SOF IGKO 2022-23 will be conducted entirely in English.

You can prepare for the IGKO by reading all the suggested reference materials. However, because current events are not a subject that can be learned from a book, it is preferable to read newspapers, magazines, news websites, or even watch the news on television before taking the exam. The IGKO does not penalise pupils for incorrect answers. Thus, the most important thing is to attempt all of the questions. When taking the exam, try not to leave any questions unanswered.
