INAO Olympiad Exam Registration

The Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, in collaboration with the Indian Association of Physics Teachers, organises the Indian National Astronomy Olympiad (INAO) for applicants who have passed the National Standard Examination in Astronomy (NSEA). This exam is conducted around the end of November. It is the second stage, and it is only open to aspirants who cleared the first stage.

INAO Exam Registration

After passing the National Standard Examination in Astronomy, candidates are eligible for INO’s Astronomy Examination (INAO). Following each stage, students should check the INAO official website to see if they have qualified for the next stage. All proceedings are conducted online, and candidates must take extreme caution to avoid missing any updates. Along with qualification information, candidates’ scorecards are made accessible in their dashboards, where they must log in using their registration ID and password. Registration Fees

The examination registration fee is 150 rupees per candidate and can be paid via online banking or credit and debit cards. Students should stay updated on the release of admit cards, which must be presented at the examination site on the day of the exam. Candidates will not be permitted to enter the examination hall unless they have a hard copy of their admit card. In the event of a pandemic, all necessary precautions are listed on the admit card, and candidates are recommended to strictly follow them.

Eligibility Criteria

The following are the eligibility requirements for the INAO Astronomy Olympiad.

  • All Indian students in Class XII or below who were born between July 1, 2002, and June 30, 2007, inclusive of both dates, are eligible to take the INAO 2021–2022 test. Students who have completed Class XII are not eligible to participate in INAO.
  • Candidates must have lived in India and attended an Indian school since November 2019 or before.
  • By June 1, 2021, candidates must not have intended to begin studies at universities or comparable institutes.
  • Before November 30, 2020, candidates must have passed the Class XII board examination or its equivalent.
  • Candidates are not permitted to appear in NSEJS 2021.
