The Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Junior Science, or IOQJS, is the first event in the International Science Olympiad programme. It’s a three-hour exam with two papers that usually takes place in January. The IOQJS combines the Indian National Olympiad (INO) and the National Standard Examination (NSE), and is administered by the IAPT and HBCSE as a combination of two competitive examinations (NSE).

Details of IOQJS Eligibility
- Age: Applicants must have been born between January 1, 2006, and December 31, 2007, inclusively.
- Academic Requirements: IOQJS is open to students in grades 10 and below. They need to have started studying in India on November 30, 2019, or before. Before November 30, 2020, students must not have passed the 10th board examinations or any similar test. Those who have been enrolled in an Indian school system since November 2019 or before are also eligible to take the IOQJS.
- Citizenship: Students interested in participating in the IOQJS must have or be eligible to have an Indian passport. They must have lived in India since November of this year or before. According to the Madras High Court’s decision, Indian citizens living abroad will be unable to compete for their country in international competitions.
- Students who want to take the IOQJS must not take the IOQP, IOQA, IOQC, or IOQB in the same year as the IOQJS.

- Make a study schedule for yourself, and only study when your mind is focused and alert.
- Breaks are necessary to maintain attention and allow our brains to digest the information we have learned.
- Make your studying more interesting by being more creative. Try to study theories in the form of tales to make them more understandable and memorable.
- Make a list of your daily goals. The value of setting objectives from a young age will carry over into your adult life.
- It is not a good idea to put off dealing with doubts. Teachers or mentors should be questioned, and all queries must be resolved.
