NCO Class 4 Syllabus

The National Competitive Exam (NCO) is a competitive exam for students studying in grades from 1 to 10. The examination is organised by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). It is one of the most well-known olympiad assessments, emphasising computing and thinking skills in a manner comparable to past olympiad assessments. The purpose of the test is to help pupils develop their mental powers, logical thinking skills, and analytical reasoning capabilities. The National Cyber Olympiad is a single-level examination. The SOF organisation usually holds the NCO Exam in December or January.

Highlights of the Exam

The National Cyber Olympiad is a cyber security competition for children in grades 1-10. The exam’s primary purpose is to increase young people’s knowledge of internet security and computer skills, as well as to provide students with a platform to acquire confidence and upgrade their skills by teaching them more about computers and information technology. The exam is offered to students of various ages depending on their classes. The following are a few of the examination’s goals.

• Beginning in primary school, improve their computer skills and knowledge.
• Students will be equipped with the technological skills needed in today’s digital world.

Exam Pattern

The NCO test is divided into three parts.

• The first section offers questions regarding patterns, series, and classifications for students in grades 1 to 5. Section I covers both verbal and nonverbal thinking issues for kids in grades 6 to 10.
• The second section contains questions about computers, information technology, and technological advances.
• The third section focuses on high-order thinking skills. The topic is the same as section II in every grade, but the level of difficulty varies and continues to rise.

The question paper includes a 60-minute test with 35 objective-type questions for classes 1 to 4 and 50 objective-type questions for classes 5 to 10.

The SOF NCO exam follows major educational boards’ syllabi, such as CBSE, ICSE, State Board, and others. Logical reasoning and mathematical aptitude, both of which are necessary for computer technology, are the exam’s main topics.
