Total number of bills = 5460
Total number of children =12
To calculate the number of bills each child gets, 5460 has to be divided by 12.
We can write 5640 as 4800 + 660.
So, 5460 ÷ 12 = (4800 ÷ 12) + ( 660 ÷ 12)


5460 ÷ 12 = (4800 ÷ 12) + ( 660 ÷ 12)
= 400 + 55
= 455
Each child gets 455 bills.
Value of each note = $5
Value of 455 bills = 455 × 5
