Question

$$15$$ men buid a $$16.25-m$$ long wall up to a certain height in one day. How many men should be employed to build a wall of the same height but of length $$26$$ metres in one day?


Solution

given $$15$$ men can build a $$16.25 m$$ wall in one day

$$\Rightarrow$$1 men can build  $$\dfrac{16.25}{15}=\dfrac{13}{12} m$$ length of wall in one day 

let the number of men required be x

$$\Rightarrow x \times \dfrac{13}{12}m=26m$$

$$\Rightarrow x=\dfrac{26\times 12}{13}=24$$

therefore 24 men are required
