Solution

The correct option is C 3:2, externally
Let A=a+2b+3c
B=2a+3b+5cC=7a2c
Let us assume that C divides the line segment AB in the ratio x:1, then the position vector of C will be
r=xB+Ax+17ac=x(2a+3b+5c)+(a+2b+3c)x+1or 7(x+1)a(x+1)c=(2x+1)a+(3x+2)b+(5x+3)cor (9x+6)a(3x+2)b(6x+4)c=09x+6=0(1) 3x+2=0(2) 6x+4=0(3)
From (1), (2) and (3) we get a unique value of x which is 23.
Minus sign indicates external division. Also it can be written as 32 external division if instead of ACBC we take BCAC.
