A 10 kg body is moving with a constant acceleration of 4 m/s2. If the initial velocity of the body is 2 m/s, what is the change in momentum in 5 s ?

Given,
Mass of the body, m = 10 kg
Acceleration a=4 m/s2
Initial velocity, u = 2 m/s
Time, t = 5 s

Let the final velocity after 5 s be v.
In order to find final velocity, we need to apply equation of motion.
We know,
v = u + at
v = 2 m/s + ( 4 x 5 ) m/s = 22 m/s
Thus,
Final velocity, v = 22 m/s

Change in moementum = mv - mu
= m ( v-u )
= 10 kg (22 - 2) m/s
= 10 x 20 = 200 kg m/s
