Question

A 100μF capacitor is charged with a 50V source supply. Then source supply is removed and the capacitor is connected across an inductance, as a result of which 5A current flows through the inductance. Calculate the value of the inductance.

Solution

Herer, C=100μF=104F,

V=50volt,I=5A,L=?

As energy stored i inductor=energy stored in capacitor,
12CV2=12LI2

L=CV2I2=100×106×50×505×5

=104×(50)2(5)2
=0.01H
