then upward acceleration of $12-N$ weight $=a$

Let $T=$ tension in the string

For $12-N$ weight$,$

$T-12=\frac{12}{g}\times a$ -----------------$\left(2\right)$

Adding $\left(1\right)$ and $\left(2\right),$

$1=\frac{25}{g}\times a$

$or,\frac{1}{25}=\frac{a}{g}$
