The correct option is C 11m/s
Given : M=60kg m=20kg v=7m/s
Initial momentum of the system Pi=(m+M)v=(20+60)×7=560 kg m/s
Let the velocity of the man just after he throws the box be V.
Final momentum of the system Pf=60V20×5=60V100
Using conservation of momentum : Pi=Pf
560=60V100 V=11 m/s
