A bag contains card nos. From 5 to 100. From the bag a card is selected at random. Find the probability that it will be
1. A multiple of 4
2. A perfect square
3. A no. Having 0 at the unit place


Solution

(a) Total number of cards = 96

total number of cards with 4 multiple = 96/4 = 24

Probability = 24/96 = 1/4 = 0.25

(b) Total number of perfect squares = 8 (9,16,25,36,49,64,81,100)

Probability = 8/96 = 1/16

(c) Total number of number having 0 at unit place = 10

Probability = 10/96 = 5/48
