Question

A ball is thrown upward from edge of a cliff with an initial velocity of 6 m/s . How fast is it moving 1/2 s later ?(g=10 $$ m/{ s }^{ 2 } $$)  


Solution

Given,
Initial velocity of ball , $$u=6m/s$$
acceleration on the ball, $$a=-g=-10m/s^2$$
Using 
$$v=u+at$$
Here $$t=\dfrac 12 sec$$

Final velocity, $$v=6-10\times \dfrac12= 1m/s$$
