Find the of velocity along the line of impact.
From the diagram,
sinθ=R2R=12=30
Find the velocity after collision.
From the law of conservation of momentum,
m1u1+m2u2=m1v1+m2v2
mvcos300=mv2+2mv1...(i)
Apply Coefficient of Restitution.
e=12
e=12=v1v2vcos300..(ii)
On solving (i) and (ii),
v1=3v4
Final Answer: 7
