The correct option is A The velocities are exchanged by the two balls
Since the collision is elastic, we know that when two bodies of same mass have an elastic collision their velocities get interchanged.
m1u1+m2u2=m1v1+m2v2

But m1=m2=M,u1=V,u2=V

MVMV=Mv1+Mv2

v1+v2=0.............(1)

The coefficient of restitution (e) is given by,

e=v1v2u1u2

But for elastic collision, e=1

v1v2V+V=1

v2v1=2V..............(2)

From (1) and (2), we get,
v2=V
v1=V
