Let the boat's speed while running upstream be x kmph and that downstream be y kmph.
Then, distance covered while running upstream in 8 hours 48 minutes = Distance covered while running downstream in 4 hours
x×(8+4860)=y×4
x×445=y×4
y=11x5
Required ratio
=(y+x2):(yx2)
=16x2×12:6x2×12
=8:3
