Given:
Initial velocity, u=2 ms1,
Final velocity, v=10 ms1,
Acceleration, a=52 ms2

Using equation of motion,
v2=u2+2as
102=22+2×52×s
s=965 m

Note that the velocity is positive throughout, hence the resultant displacement is equal to the distance travelled. Hence, the distance travelled is 965 m.
