The correct option is B 1.26 cm
Let v be the combined velocity of system just after collision.
Using conservation of linear momentum
mv0+(M×0)=(m+M)v
v=mv0m+M=20×2200=0.2 m/s
and this will be the maximum speed of mass attached to the string and this position will be mean position as extension of spring.
So v=Aω
0.2=(km+M)A
A=0.2(km+M)
A=0.2500.2=0.0126 m
A=1.26 cm
