Question

A circular coil of radius 10cm and 25 turns is rotated about is vertical diameter with an angular speed of 40rad-1, in a uniform horizontal magnetic field of magnitude 50mT. Calculate the peak value of emf induced in the coil. Also find the peak value of current in the coil if the resistance of the coil is 15ohms

Solution

Dear student,
Maximum induced emf = NωABA = area of the coil = 3.14×(10×10-2)2A = 3.14×10-2ε = 25×40×3.14×10-2×50×10-3ε =1.57Vpeak value of currentI=εR=1.5715=0.10A
