Solution

Let the height of the tree whose length of the shadow is 45 m be x m.Now, it is given that length of the shadow of a coconut tree of height 10 m is 25 m.

In tabular form,
height of tree (in metres) 10 x
length of shadow (in metres) 25 45

Since at the same time, height of tree and length of shadow varies directly, so 1025 = x4525x = 450x = 45025x = 18So, height of tree is 18 m whose length of shadow is 45 m.
